Pond 1
Village of Cherry Hill

Columbia, MO

Open for tour on June 23rd ONLY

Directions:
The Village of Cherry Hill is located at the southeast corner of Chapel Hill and Scott Blvd.  From I-70, exit onto Stadium Blvd and go South to Broadway. Turn west and follow Broadway around to the left where it becomes Scott Blvd. Go South to Cherry Hill.


This water garden is the focal point of the park area serving the office complex. Large boulders line the double stream, which has several waterfalls.

Pond 2

3900 Country Woods Dr.

Directions:
Go south on Scott Blvd. to the first stop sign.  Go east on Vauter School Rd, which is the same as Nifong Rd, to the first stop sign.  Go left on Country Woods Lane to the first house on the right.


This is the largest water garden in this area of town, with a long, meandering stream with large boulders, and mature plantings.  The stream ends in a large pond filled with naturalized water lilies of all kinds.  This is a must see pond for water lily lovers.

Pond 3

Directions:
Go east on Nifong Rd. to Glen Eagle Dr, which is by the golf course. Turn right on Glen Eagle, then right on Royal Lytham. Take a right on Chadwick, then another right on Fallwood Ct. House is at the end of the cul-de-sac.


This water garden features a cascading stream which wraps around a retaining wall, dropping about 8 feet.  The pond is close to the house, creating a private setting.  The sound of water can be heard through any open window, or from the deck at the rear of the house.

Pond 4
Bob and Sharri Emery

Directions:
Return to Chadwick. Go left on Chadwick one block to Royal Lytham.  Go right to Highlands Parkway, which is just after the church.  Turn right and go to Stirling Ct. and turn right.  The house is the first on your right.


Flowers in the front and side yards are just a warm-up for the view at the rear.  The back yard features a 1-acre lake, and beautiful water garden.  Water splashes down a 20-foot stream with two waterfalls, into a small pond, then appears to flow under an arched bridge into the lake.  Two preformed pools by the patio and deck complete the park-like setting.

Directions:
Return to Highlands Parkway and go right to Highlands Ct. Go left on Highlands Ct. to Bent Path Dr.  Go right to 6009 Bent Path, which is just over the hill.


A deep, natural ravine has been perfectly landscaped for this elegant water garden.  It features two large pools filled with Koi and beautiful plants.  Two stairways wind their way down from opposite directions, meeting at the gazebo at the bottom.  A stream splashes its way down the hillside, and under a bridge before emptying into the lower pool.  The arched entry gate says welcome to all who enter this well done garden, which is visible from the street.

Pond 6

Directions:
Turn around on Bent Path Dr. and go back to Glasgow Dr. , which is the first street.  Turn right and go to Old Plank Road.  Turn right, and go to the stop sign at Route K.  Turn left and go to Hill Creek Road.  Turn right on Hill Creek, then right on Ridge Run.  Turn left on Chimney Ridge to the first house.


The stream of this water garden follows the natural contour of the slope beside the house.  The view of the pond and sound of the running water from the newly added family room is just what the homeowner needed to relax by day or night.

Pond 7
Bruce and Kathy Fluesmeier

7651 Hill Creek Road

Directions:
Return to Hill Creek Rd. and turn right.  Go to a long driveway on the right, which serves three homes.  The pond is at the end of the long driveway.


This new water garden serves as the focal point for the fromnt entrance.  It features two pools connected by a short stream running under the bridge of the front walk which serves the front door.

Directions:
Go back to Route K, and turn right, taking you back to Columbia.  Go left on Nifong Road, then right on Forum Blvd.  Follow the winding Forum Blvd. to the stop light at Chapel Hill Rd.  Turn left and go to the second stop sign.  Turn left on Fairview, and left on Chapel Wood Rd.


The water garden adds a special touch to a back yard hillside, which can be seen from all the rear windows of the house.

Pond 9
Ben and Darlene Londeree

2601 Chapel Wood Terrace
Columbia, MO

Directions:
Continue on Chapel Wood Rd. to Chapel Wood Terrace and turn left.  The house is at the end of the cul-de-sac.


A long, natural looking, 120 foot long stream was built to follow the contour in this wooded setting.  The stream has a total drop of 19 feet.  A second pump provides water for a sheer curtain waterfall that drops four feet from a cantilevered ledge into the pond at the front of the house.  Wood workers will love the bridge over the stream and working water wheel.

Directions:
Go north of Columbia on Highway 63 to Highway 124 West (Note: Don't take Highway 124 East which goes to Hallsville.)  Go west on Highway 124 toward Harrisburg to Proctor Road, then south on Proctor.


Alpine Park and Gardens is a water gardener's dream.  It has several water features mixed into the sprawling gardens, which are used for weddings and private parties.  Building and maintaining the extensive flower and water gardens has turned into a full time job for the park's owners.  There is always something new being added.
